41. BLAME YOURSELF AS YOU WOULD BLAME OTHERS;
EXCUSE OTHERS AS YOU WOULD EXCUSE YOURSELF.

Matthew 7:12 (NIV) says So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.”

42. OTHERS CAN STOP YOU TEMPORARILY -
YOU ARE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN DO IT PERMANENTLY.

1 Corinthians 9:24 (NIV) says Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.”

43. CONSIDER THE TURTLE, HE MAKES PROGRESS
ONLY WHEN HE STICKS HIS NECK OUT.

Matthew 14:28-29 (NIV) says “ ’Lord, if it’s you,’ Peter replied, ‘tell me to come to you on the water.’Come,’ he said. Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water and came toward Jesus.”

44. A WINNER MAKES COMMITMENTS;
A LOSER MAKES PROMISES.

Psalm 15:1-2 (NIV) says Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain? The one whose walk is blameless, who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from their heart.”

Psalm 15:4 (NIV) says “Who despises a vile person but honors those who fear the Lord; who keeps an oath even when it hurts, and does not change their mind.”

45. FAITH DOESN'T MAKE ANYTHING HAPPEN -
FAITH RESTS ON SOMETHING THAT HAS HAPPENED.

Psalm 62:1 (NIV) says Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him.”

46. WHAT IS MORAL IS WHAT YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT AFTER.

Matthew 5:8 (NIV) says Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.”

47. WHENEVER A MAN IS READY TO UNCOVER HIS SINS,
GOD IS READY TO COVER THEM.

Proverbs 28:13 (NIV) says Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.”

48. GOD NEVER ASKS ABOUT OUR ABILITY OR INABILITY,
JUST OUR AVAILABILITY.

Isaiah 6:8 (NIV) says “ ’Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’ “

49. YOU CAN'T ACT LIKE A SKUNK
WITHOUT SOMEONE GETTING WIND ABOUT IT.

Matthew 12:35 (NIV) says A good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and an evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.”

50. GOD ALWAYS GIVES HIS BEST TO THOSE
WHO LEAVE THE CHOICE WITH HIM.

Psalm 68:19 (NIV) says Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.”

Bible Food For Thought (Part 4).

NOTE: This is the fourth in a series of Guest Posts used with permission from Pastor Jerry Johnson of Beacon Of Light Christian Center Church in Overland Park, Kansas.

31. BY PERSEVERANCE THE SNAIL REACHED THE ARK.

Hebrews 12:1 (NIV) says “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us.”

32. THE WORST MOMENT FOR THE ATHEIST IS WHEN HE IS
REALLY THANKFUL AND HAS NOBODY TO THANK.

Psalm 53:1-3 (NIV) says The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, and their ways are vile; there is no one who does good.”

33. IT IS POSSIBLE TO BE TOO BIG FOR GOD TO USE YOU
BUT NEVER TOO SMALL FOR GOD TO USE YOU.

Proverbs 29:23 (NIV) says Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.”

34. KINDNESS GIVES BIRTH TO KINDNESS.

Proverbs 11:17 (NIV) says Those who are kind benefit themselves, but the cruel bring ruin on themselves.”

35. SOME MINDS ARE LIKE CONCRETE -
THOROUGHLY MIXED AND PERMANENTLY SET.

Proverbs 13:10 (NIV) says Where there is strife, there is pride, but wisdom is found in those who take advice.”

36. THE FIRST RULE OF HOLES:
WHEN YOU’RE IN ONE, STOP DIGGING.

Psalm 40:2-3 (NIV) says He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.”

37. A DAY HEMMED IN PRAYER IS LESS LIKELY TO UNRAVEL.

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) says Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

38. HE WHO PROVIDES FOR THIS LIFE, BUT TAKES NO CARE
FOR ETERNITY, IS WISE FOR A MOMENT BUT A FOOL FOREVER.

Matthew 16:23 (NIV) says “‘Jesus turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; you do not have in mind the concerns of God, but merely human concerns.’”

39. AT TIMES, IT IS BETTER TO KEEP YOUR MOUTH SHUT
AND LET PEOPLE WONDER IF YOU’RE A FOOL
THAN TO OPEN IT AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT.

Proverbs 17:28 (NIV) says Even fools are thought wise if they keep silent, and discerning if they hold their tongues.”

40. SOMETIMES THE LORD CALMS THE STORM,
SOMETIMES HE LETS THE STORM RAGE
AND CALMS HIS CHILD.

Philippians 4:7 (NIV) says And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

WHO REMEMBERS THAT HIS HELPER IS OMNIPOTENT.

THE TREE NEEDN’T WORRY ABOUT THE ELEMENTS.

It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.”

27. CHARACTER IS MUCH EASIER KEPT THAN RECOVERED.

1 Timothy 4:12 (NIV) says Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.”

28. FAULTS ARE THICK WHERE LOVE IS THIN.

1 Peter 4:8 (NIV) says Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.”

THAT FORESIGHT WOULD HAVE PREVENTED.

YOU SEE WHEN YOU TAKE YOUR EYES OFF THE GOAL.

But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and, beginning to sink, cried out, ‘Lord, save me!’ Immediately Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. ‘You of little faith,’ he said, ‘why did you doubt?’”
