How To Get Your Prayers Answered.

Have You Ever Wondered, “Why Doesn’t God Answer My Prayers?”
Remember, prayer is simply talking to God. God wants to be our friend, and He desires for us to feel comfortable speaking to Him.
But make no mistake: You have no reason to expect real answers to your prayers unless you pray to the one true God and ask according to His will.
- 1 Corinthians 8:5-6 (NIV):
“For even if there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or on earth (as indeed there are many ‘gods’ and many ‘lords’), yet for us there is but one God, the Father, from whom all things came and for whom we live; and there is but one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom all things came and through whom we live.”
11 Steps to Strengthen Your Prayer Life
- Have Faith in God
- Hebrews 11:6 (NIV):
“And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.” - James 1:6-7 (NIV):
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.”
- Hebrews 11:6 (NIV):
- Confess Your Sins and Ask God to Forgive You
- 1 John 1:9 (NIV):
“If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
- 1 John 1:9 (NIV):
- Repent of Your Sins
- Revelation 3:19 (NIV):
“Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent.”
- Revelation 3:19 (NIV):
- Forgive Others

“But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
- Matthew 6:15 (NIV):
- Study the Bible So You Will Know God’s Word
- 2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV):
“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”
- 2 Timothy 2:15 (NIV):
- Pray God’s WordExample #1:
- Joshua 1:9 (NIV):
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Thank You, Father, for being with me wherever I go. I will be strong, brave, and encouraged. I will not be afraid or dismayed. I will pray, and go, and do Your will. I thank You, in the Name of Jesus. Amen.Example #2:- John 14:27 (NIV):
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
Thank You, Father, for the peace that You give. I accept this peace, so my heart will not be troubled with the affairs of this world. I thank You, in the Name of Jesus. Amen. - Joshua 1:9 (NIV):
- Ask According to God’s Will
- 1 John 5:14-15 (NIV):
“This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of Him.”
- 1 John 5:14-15 (NIV):
- Pray to the Father in the Name of Jesus
- John 14:10-14 (NIV):
“Don’t you believe that I am in the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing His work. Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me; or at least believe on the evidence of the works themselves. Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”
- John 14:10-14 (NIV):
- Believe That You Receive When You Pray
- Matthew 21:22 (NIV):
“If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” - Mark 11:24 (NIV):
“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
- Matthew 21:22 (NIV):
- Thank God for the Answer
- Philippians 4:6 (NIV):
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.”
Important: After you have prayed and asked God, verbally confess and believe that whatever you have asked God for is now yours, and thank God for it. But, don’t just confess it once. Continue to thank God for what you have asked for until you receive it.
- Be Patient and Don’t Waver
- James 1:6-7 (NIV):
“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord.” - Hebrews 10:23 (NIV):
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” - Hebrews 10:35-37 (NIV):
“So do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what He has promised. For, ‘In just a little while, He who is coming will come and will not delay.’”
