Are You Born Again (Saved)?

Are You Born Again (Saved)?

3:1-3 (NIV) says

“Now there was a Pharisee, a man named Nicodemus who was a member
of the Jewish ruling council. He came to Jesus at night and said,
‘Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no
one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.’

replied, ‘Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God
unless they are born again.’”

3:23 (NIV) says

all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”

5:8 (NIV) says
God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still
sinners, Christ died for us.”

6:23 (NIV) says

the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus our Lord.”

14:6 (NIV) says

answered, ‘I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to
the Father except through me’”.

8:1-17 (NIV) says

“Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in
Christ Jesus, because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who
gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the
flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh
to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh, in order
that the righteous requirement of the law might be fully met in us,
who do not live according to the flesh but according to the Spirit.

who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the
flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have
their minds set on what the Spirit desires. The mind governed by the
flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and
peace. The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not
submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm
of the flesh cannot please God.

however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of
the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone
does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ.
But if Christ is in you, then even though your body is subject to
death because of sin, the Spirit gives life because of righteousness.
And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in
you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your
mortal bodies because of His Spirit who lives in you.

brothers and sisters, we have an obligation—but it is not to the
flesh, to live according to it. For if you live according to the
flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the
misdeeds of the body, you will live.

those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in
fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your
adoption to sonship. And by Him we cry, “
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s

if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs
with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we
may also share in his glory.”

10:8-10 (NIV) says

what does it say? “The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in
your heart,” that is, the message concerning faith that we
proclaim: If you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and
believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be
saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified,
and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”

12:2 (NIV) says

not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the
renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve
what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”

you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

procrastinate. Today is your day to be saved and Heaven will be your
future home. To be saved, simply speak out loud the following prayer
and mean it from your heart.

a sinner and my sins deserve judgment. Thank you for paying the
penalty for my sins with your death on the cross. I ask you to
forgive my sins, come into my life and cleanse me. Thank you for
saving me, Jesus, for giving me a new start today and for helping me
to live for you. In your name I pray. Amen.

you said this prayer and meant it from your heart, do the following:

  • Immediately
tell someone else what you just did to confirm your salvation.

  • Acquire
a Bible and begin reading it every day to renew your mind and grow
in the Lord. We recommend that you begin with the Gospel of John
and the Book of Romans to gain a thorough understand of who Jesus is
    and what your salvation means.

  • Find
a Bible believing and Bible teaching church that can disciple you
and help you grow in your faith.

soon as possible, be baptized. When you do this, you are making a
public declaration that you have accepted Jesus as your Savior and
    are a follower of Christ.
