This
is very clearly illustrated in the story of the Prodigal Son told in
the Gospel of Luke,
Chapter 15, Verses 12 to 24.
THE
PRODIGAL SON
Luke
15:12-24 says
“The
younger one said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of the
estate. ’So he divided his property between them.
Not
long after that, the younger son got together all he had, set off for
a distant country and there squandered his wealth in wild living.
After he had spent everything, there was a severe famine in that
whole country, and he began to be in need.
So
he went and hired himself out to a citizen of that country, who sent
him to his fields to feed pigs. He longed to fill his stomach with
the pods that the pigs were eating, but no one gave him anything.
When
he came to his senses, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired
servants have food to spare, and here I am starving to death! I will
set out and go back to my father and say to him: Father, I have
sinned against heaven and against you. I am no longer worthy to be
called your son; make me like one of your hired servants.’ So he
got up and went to his father.
But
while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled
with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him
and kissed him.
The
son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and against
you. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
But
the father said to his servants, ‘Quick! Bring the best robe and
put it on him. Put a ring on his finger and sandals on his feet.
Bring the fattened calf and kill it. Let’s have a feast and
celebrate. For this son of mine was dead and is alive again; he was
lost and is found.’ So they began to celebrate.”
ARE
YOU LOST?
If
you have not accepted Jesus as your Savior and made Him Lord of your
life, you are lost and The
Lake Of Fire
will be your eternal home.
Jesus
is like the father in the story of the Prodigal Son above and He is
waiting for you with His arms wide open. He loves you more than you
will ever know and wants to save you.
He
is offering to forgive you of all your sins and give you God's Free
Gift of Salvation.
YOU
CAN BE SAVED!
Romans
10:9-10 says
“If
you declare with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your
heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it
is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with
your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved.”
No
sin is too great for God to forgive! So, no matter what you have
done or how bad you think you might be, if you would like Heaven to
be your eternal home, today can be your day of salvation.
Come
to Jesus today. Don't procrastinate. Just admit to God that you are
a sinner and want to be forgiven. Say the following prayer, mean it
from your heart, and you will be saved.
“Jesus,
I just read that no sin is too great for you to forgive. I'm asking
you, please, to forgive me of all my sins. I also read that if I call
on your name, you will save me. I'm calling on you right now and
asking you to save me. Please come into my heart, give me a brand new
life, and help me to live for you. Thank you for dying for me, and
forgiving and saving me. Amen”
