Isaiah
26:3-4 (KJV) says “Thou
wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because
he trusteth in thee.
Trust
ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting
strength.”
We
can never avoid turmoil in the world around us, but with God, we can
know perfect peace even in turmoil. When we are devoted to God, our
whole attitude is steady and stable.
Supported
by God's unchanging love and mighty power, we are not shaken by the
surrounding chaos.
IF YOU WANT PEACE,
KEEP
YOUR THOUGHTS ON AND YOUR TRUST IN JESUS!
In
John 14:27 (NIV),
Jesus
said
“Peace
I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the
world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be
afraid.”
The
end result of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives is deep and lasting
peace. Unlike worldly peace, which is usually defined as the absence
of conflict, this peace is confident assurance in any circumstance.
Sin,
fear, uncertainty, doubt, and numerous other forces are at war within
us. The peace of God moves into our hearts and lives to restrain
these hostile forces and offer comfort in place of conflict.
Philippians
4:6-7 (NIV) says
“Do
not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and
petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the
peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
God's
peace is different from the world's peace. True peace is not found
in positive thinking, in absence of conflict, or in good feelings.
It comes from knowing that God is in control.
Our
citizenship in Christ's kingdom is sure, our destiny is set, and we
can have victory over sin. Let God's peace guard your heart against
anxiety in time of turmoil.
With
Christ's peace, we have no need to fear the present or the future.
Jesus says He will give us peace if we are willing to accept it from
Him. If you life is full of turmoil, allow the Holy Spirit to fill
you with Christ's peace.
